Top 10 – Worst Films of 2010

The downside of going to the cinema once maybe twice a week is that you will end up going to see some bad films at some point. Or maybe not just bad, but disappointing after they have been built up so much. I have managed to see 41 films from the year 2010, so picked by 10 worst from those!

Some of the films may come as a bit of a shock on the worst film list, but just how I felt watching the films. The more I have looked over my list the more it appears disappointment set in whilst really looking forward to seeing the films.

10. Alice in Wonderland (Review)

Disappointment was the main emotion I left the cinema after seeing this film from. I just expected much more from a Burton film starring Depp and Bonham Carter. I wanted it to be more off the wall and crazy. It just wasn’t enough for me at all.

9 . The Book of Eli

I found this film very strange, not really being sure before attending the cinema of the story. But left the cinema thinking that I had just wasted some time as felt the film was totally pointless.

8. Unstoppable (Review)

I thought this film was going to have plenty of action and be heart stopping from start to finish. Unfortunately it wasn’t unstoppable as the title suggests. It was pretty boring and the ending became very obvious from scene to scene.

7. How Do You Know (Review)

It really does pain me to have a film in the list which has my favorite ever actor Jack Nicholson in it! But this film never got started and totally failed in my eyes. As we did not learn or gain anything from watching the film. They two potential couples were too awkward and not believable at all.

6. The Next Three Days (Review)

I found myself getting more and more annoyed as this film went on, it just seemed to be missing something. The fact you were doubting if his wife was innocent was also a factor that made the viewer not actually care if he managed to free her.

5. The Ghost Writer

This film really did try, just didn’t quite make it for me. Very slow in building up to what turned into a very disappointing ending!

4. The American

Clooney is one of my favorite actors and with Oscar whispers about this film I was very excited to see it. That excitement was gone when the film had no dialogue for about the first 10/15 minutes which felt like a lifetime. I just felt we were missing something all the way through this one!

3. Letters to Juliet

Well a Rom-com which didn’t strike me at all. To unbelievable and far-fetched. The characters aren’t too likable either which does not help.

2. Dear John (Review)

The book broke my heart . . . the film not so much. I just don’t think they managed to capture the utter heart-break the book contains. Which was such a shame as I am a big fan of the Nicholas Sparks novel’s turned films.

1.  Sex and the City 2 (Review)

I have even surprised myself by having this as the worst film of the year, but I just had to do it. I am such a huge fan of the TV series, it is my favorite ever. But this film really tries its best to undo all the great work the TV series put out there. The sex has definitely gone from the city.
